The Spoon Council was formed in 1949 as a breakaway from The Cutler’s Guild. It was established solely to promote the use of spoons in everyday life and to get away from those beastly knife and fork people.
Re-locating from the City of London under cover of the Great Fog and Stink of 1953 we set up our headquarters in the spiritual home and birthplace of the spoon, Crawley.
We engage, policy-makers, business leaders, educators, designers, architects and celebrities in all aspects of the latest spoon design and innovation. Empowering them to make smart decisions that will benefit, pioneer and extol spoon use in the UK and beyond.
